Your Story

18 01 2010

What is a story made of? Yea I know you have all the protagonist  antagonist and many other elements, but how does it all get put together.

I just recently read Don Miller’s newest book called Thousand Years. It explores the making of a good story and how all our lives are stories. Don constantly talks about what it means to have a better story or a better life. He talks of doing something different where you have to completely go out of your comfort zone. In the end of the book he went from watching tv all day to hiking and living life to the fullest.

God talks of having life and living it to the fullest. I have been contemplating this lately. How can I live a better story for God and have life to the fullest. I think the true answer to this question is following God on his journey. When I follow right behind him I will see all the action and have many adventures. Now, I strive to have life to be right on God’s heels following Him and let me tell you he did not say it would be easy.

Are you having life to the fullest?

That’s on my list for books to read (or at least skim) this year. I’ve written about building a life like a good story before, even before I heard about the book, so I think the idea is fascinating. It’s all about creating an amazing testimony instead of waiting for it to happen to you.

To answer your question, yes, I genuinely feel I’m living life to the fullest right now. I even blogged about it yesterday on my personal blog. Still, I’m not sure that means I actually am. There’s always a difference between what I think I’m doing and what I actually am doing.

It’s certainly a question I need to keep reminding myself of.

What about you?

I think I am living a good story too. Each day I struggle with surrendering my story to God and also making this day an adventure and not just another day of the same old thing. I also realized that everyone has a story that is just dying to get out. That is why I am so excited to hear everyones stories.
So what is your blog address so I can read about your story?
